shocking testimony was provided to international lawyers, journalists, and activists converged at a conference titled, "The Iraq Commission," held in Brussels, Belgium, April 16 and 17, with the primary aim of bringing to justice government officials who are guilty of war crimes in Iraq...

"a chink in the armor of secrecy"

World Can't Wait repudiates President Obama's assassination program. We urge you to endorse the KNOW DRONES CALL and join with protests nationwide.

World Can't Wait's "Reaper" drone is a 1/5 scale replica of the real thing. Imagine Obama's weapon of choice flying in the sky above your head. Not In My Back Yard? Let's ban the use of killer or surveillance drones ANYWHERE. American lives are not more important than other people's lives. Humanity and the planet come first. Resist the destruction that accompanies this technology, intentional or not.

While John Yoo's 'Torture Memos' have been revoked,

"the only case I know of where the Justice Department has ever withdrawn an opinion of the office of legal counsel and officially is no longer U.S. policy," says University of Notre Dame Law Professor Douglass Cassel,

truth bytes

Despite Senator Feinstein's best efforts to package the contents of her 6,600-page torture investigation to her liking, leaks will continue to frustrate attempts to re-write the history of Guantanamo.

Witness Against U.S. Drone Strikes

Noor Behram remembers why he started on his mission to photograph the scenes of drone attacks in Pakistan. The reason was 12 dead people -- an entire family extinguished in what was officially a U.S. attack on militants.

Unsubstantiated identification of "terrorists" not only denies age-old principles of presumptive innocence, it defies the ability to differentiate the "good" guys from the "bad." Investigative work by journalist Noor Behram and lawyers like Shahzad Akbar reveals the truth about the U.S. drone campaign: that far more civilians are being injured or killed than your government is prepared to admit.

President Obama has assigned himself the power of targeted assassination. It is up to us, people living in this country, acting together with people around the world, to stand up, tell the truth, and say no.

Years of Living Dangerously

9-part Showtime documentary television series focusing on climate change premieres tonight, April 13, 2014

A nationwide counter-offensive against the attacks on women's lives -- a movement that is entirely unapologetic about abortion, and is waging uncompromising resistance against the enslavement and degradation of women -- has begun.

Exhibit C of the Army report on "INVESTIG...

Manning, former US intelligence officer, also leaked massive troves of documents which include details about war crimes committed by US army personnel, such as the condoning of torture and killing of innocent civilians in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.  Four years after the releases, not one of the people implicated of war crimes in those documents or in the Collateral Murder video has been prosecuted...

a slice of truth (maybe)

As a Senate committee moves to declassify a landmark report about the Central Intelligence Agency's descent into torture, among the only certainties is that the public won't see the vast majority of it...

A Drone's-Eye View of America

Tomas van Houtryve attached his camera to a small drone and travelled across America to photograph the very sorts of gatherings that have become habitual targets for foreign air strikes--weddings, funerals, groups of people praying or exercising. He also flew his camera over settings in which drones are used to less lethal effect, such as prisons, oil fields, industrial feedlots, and stretches of the U.S.-Mexico border. The images captured from the drone's perspective engage with the changing nature of war, privacy, and government transparency...
